This is the LAUSD's Site Plan for High School #13 South (16 acres). Please notice the Alameda Corridor (710 Alternate) running directly beside the school site's football fields and recreation area. Also, please notice the train tracks running parallel to the highway. These train tracks create millions of cars worth of pollution in the form of Diesel Particulates, one of the largest contributors to under developed lungs and asthma in children and young adults. |

This is the LAUSD's “Preferred Site for High School #13 South (16 acres). This site encompasses the area from East Manchester St to E 83rd St, and from Lou Dillon to Alameda St. Please notice the Industrial sites located across Alameda St, also the wreckage yards across both East Manchester St., and East 83rd St. This proposed school location is surrounded on three sides by
heavy industrial use businesses, the 710 Alternate, and train
tracks that carry cargo from the Harbor, spilling tons of pollution
seventy five feet away from the proposed school. |

This is Roosevelt Park located on the corner of Nadeau St. and Graham Ave. (25 acre site). This is a site that has been suggested by the community as an alternative site to the LAUSD's Preferred School site located directly on the Alameda Corridor (710 Alternate). The benefit to this site is that it is located beside the Blue line, which has a station on the corner, providing direct public transportation to the school for students and teachers. Additionally, only a portion of the site is needed for the school, and the remainder would remain park space. This would allow expanded school use because of the park, and expanded park use because of the school. |
|
This is a nine acre site for sale located on the corner of Nadeau St. and Maie Ave. (kitty-corner to Roosevelt Park). This site has been suggested as replacement housing or park space if the school were to be placed at the end of Roosevelt Park. |

This photo shows the relation of the proposed High School Site #13 South site, the Alternative Site located at Roosevelt Park, and the replacement space to one another. The three locations are close to one another, and would therefore accomplish the goal of relieving two other specific High Schools. |
